Went to Olympic National Park and then got my Twilight on
"In the Olympic Peninsula of northwest Washington State, a small town named Forks exists under a near-constant cover of clouds. It rains on this inconsequential town more than any other place in the United States. It is from this town and it's gloomy omniprescent shade........" that I Kari Hartter escaped to and got my twigeek on for a few days. In case any of you don't know that was a few of the opening lines of the twilight book, yes the ones about vampires, and yes i'm a closet twilight fan. And for anyone who cares I'm Team Edward all the way =) I started out my twilight journey in Port Angeles on Saturday morning and wandered around a bit. It's a pretty cute town and i would've liked to have stayed longer, but it was rainy of course and i wanted to get to Forks. I did happen to find a book store called Odyssey Books and Gifts and i learned later that could've been the book store that Stephanie Meyer was referring to where Bella bought her book and then had to be rescued by Edward from that group of guys. Thought it was pretty cool i happened into that store, and i was a pretty cool little used book store. From Port Angeles i took a pit stop at Olympic National Park and stopped by Lake Crescent and then took a cool hike up to Marymere Falls. It was a pretty decent hike and the falls were really pretty. After that i made my way to Forks and got a room at the Forks Motel and took a nap so i could be prepared for the awesomeness of the Twilight Tour I was going to go on. I actually got on a bus with about 10 other people with a tour guide and took a tour of all the places in forks that were used in the filming of the movie and other places that stephanie was referring to in her book. I think it would've been more fun if i had someone to go with me to be a total twinerd and if i had gone a couple of years ago when i first discovered twilight, but it was pretty cool nonetheless. After that i ate a Pacific Pizza, which had really good breadsticks and called it a night. Was gonna check out their bowling alley but was too tired, maybe next time =) For the record washington as a state is very rainy and very gloomy and made me just want to sleep all the time. Don't think i could live there, too depressing. I need my sunshine=)
