So my morning got started late, big suprise as i'm not really a morning person. I got to Bear Lake around 10:30am and was looking forward to get my first hiking experience underway,of course things did not go as planned. Since Bear Lake is so high up it has several feet of snow covering the pathways so that was fun trying to navigate through. I almost gave up after the first place i tried to hike to,but decided to try my luck hiking to Alberta Falls, which was definitely worth the effort. It was a bit of a hike but the payoff when you got to the top was well worth it. The views up there are amazing =) I hit up Trail Ridge Road after that and to try and describe just how beautiful the mountains and the park are,is kind of pointless. It's one of those things that you just have to see for yourselves because pictures just don't do it justice. I almost peed my pants/threw up when i was driving high up in the mountains b/c the dropoffs are deadly and it's pretty scary when you're driving on the outside lanes. But it really is beautiful. I'm pretty sure this is the best way i've spent a monday in a really long time, maybe ever. Hanging out in steamboat springs for the night and then i'm heading up to the tetons and yellowstone in the morning. As beautiful as RMNP was i have a feeling yellowstone might kick it's ass.......we shall see.
P.S. Colorado drivers are nuts. They drive like crazy people.
