Thumb Butte/Jerome

Friday was the start of my adventure into northern arizona.  I took the scenic drive up through Wickenburg on highway 89 up to Prescott.  A friend told me to check out Thumb Butte for a good hike so that was my first stop of the day.  I took the Thumb Butte Loop Trail and went on a great hike that ended up being one of my favorite hikes i have been on.  The first part of the loop is pretty strenuous as you are going straight up most of the way, but it was a good workout and the hike back down was nice and relaxing.  The views on this hike were so beautiful and you could look down and see the city of Prescott below.  Next up i hit the road to travel up to Jerome, which was an old mining town, that was kind of taken over by artists and now has unique shops and restaurants lining the streets.  The town of Jerome itself is small, but it has great character and i definitely loved the vibe of it, and I could absolutely see myself living there.  On my drive to Jerome i rounded a turn and had to stop at an overlook because right then and there i fell in love with the state of Arizona.  I took some pictures of it that i will post, but they won't do the view justice.  The colors were so beautiful and the sun was in just the right place that it made it so pretty it seemed unreal.  This is a place i plan on going back to and spending a lot more time in and hopefully have some money so i can buy all the cute stuff that i loved there.
